And there are, like, four separate, distinct looks she gives to Tommy as she delivers these lines that I couldn't fit all of in this, or even capture properly with the screenshot/freeze-frame tech I'm working with, which is why ofc you should SEE THIS FILM! If you've made it this far having never seen it, like, what are you even doing it? Go steal it from somewhere like idk maybe TheFlixer or some shit. I'm not going to do your crimes for you, man.

Tommy, earnestly, as both characters are in this scene: "I don't know." Tommy is unafraid to not have the answer. Often, a trope in film is that the prince or King (figurative or literal) has to put on a stoic, Father-Knows-Best persona or demeanor, and Tommy may put on a good face for the company, but in private, with Michelle, he doesn't hesitate to tell her what's in and on his heart: "I don't know."

I was stressing out over this until late last month when I realized I was mixing up inciting incident with the first turning point in a novel. The story is set in motion when my MC says, "I do." The poor woman doesn't know what she's gotten herself into! 🤣
