#NicolausCopernicus published his mathematical proofs for #heliocentrism in 1543. In the wake of #GalileoGalilei's trial for having to proven #Copernicus right, on #ThisDayInHistory in 1616 the book was placed on the #Vatican's #IndexOfForbiddenBooks, banning it for #Catholics.
