Shandong TV announce they will broadcast on prime time #FlourishedPeony, followed by #InTheNameOfBlossom.

Just a question Dani - at the risk of sounding obsessed with this topic! - but considering you gave both parts of #FlourishedPeony (ie, #InTheNameofBlossom too) a 10, why didn’t it feature in your end of year top 10 (most of which you rated lower than that)?
Did your appreciation for it drop off?
I guess one reason I can think of for downgrading FP is that part 2 - #InTheNameofBlossom - was a relative disappointment (a victim of the 40 episode rule)
It didn’t reach the same heights as part 1 - so if one considers them as a whole story, I can understand why this counts against it

Day 2: Favorite Actress Discovered in 2025
I'm choosing Yang Zi. Yes, she's worked for years & is not new to the scene, however I had managed to not see any of her works until 2025. She was in 3 of the best that I've seen this year #FlourishedPeony, #InTheNameOfBlossom & #ImmortalSamsara.

OK. A bit of a leftfield suggestion perhaps, but have you considered #FlourishedPeony? (I just mean the first season, as S2 #InTheNameOfBlossom is much much more palace intrigue-y.) The romance doesn’t come to fruition in S1, but they have such great chemistry together that it doesn’t matter.

In #FlourishedPeony & #IntheNameofBlossom He Weifang (aka Mudan, played by Yang Zi) successfully makes her way from social outcast to prominent merchant, through her gardening skills & business intelligence

Another obsessive princess - who faced neglect from her father & unhappy circumstances, & chose to be cruel - was the one in #InTheNameOfBlossom. In her case we had to wait right to the end of the drama for her to begin to choose differently - she decides to join a female monastic group at the end
At the end of the day, the County Princess had to lose absolutely everything to be free. She was never capable of breaking away by herself. She's perhaps one of the most tragic characters I have seen as of late.
