Smithwick Channel is a small break in Isle Royale's barrier islands that allows safe passage from Lake Superior into Rock Harbor Channel. Raspberry Island can be seen to the left of the view, and Smithwick Island is to the right. This passage is used by many, but perhaps most frequently by the ISLE ROYALE QUEEN IV passenger ferry out of Copper Harbor, MI to travel to and from Rock Harbor.
