Grateful for mornings in Italy when every cappuccino tastes like joy brewed fresh. The history, the art, the food — but most of all, the feeling of slowing down and savoring life, one step at a time. ✨

Bassano del Grappa takes its name from Monte Grappa, not the spirit which has its origins in the small town. That should not stop you to explore the iconic #grappa distilleries while visiting. #italianvacation #iloveitaly

This small historic town in the Italian Prealps region of northern #Veneto is so beautiful and full of exiting things to discover, and yet tourist numbers are still low. Make it your next destination before everybody else. #italytourism #italianvacation

Review: Diavola by Jennifer Thorne • • • But Anna could feel that energy around her. And in her. She could feel it in her veins. The knife darted to her face. She snatched it in one palm, letting it cut deep, and stared into Caterina's rotting face. "Could you back the fuck off for two seconds? I am monologuing!" Anna snarled. That last word sent La Dama flying across the kitchen and onto the tile wall with a thud that rattled the villa's foundations. • • • I’ve read quite a few ghost stories, but never one set in Italy. There was a feeling of the traditional style in the story, but the way Thorne writes is with a modern voice, which is refreshing. The classic doors banging back and forth, ghost sightings, and of course attempted killings. A family vacation is a great foundation for a ghost story, especially when the haunted spirit wants to collect souls for energy preservation. This story peeled back the layers of what family trauma can do to a person who doesn’t fit in with how the family prefers to operate. From my vantage point, Anna is always misunderstood. The actions of others placed onto her as if she is to blame. When really, she’s just trying to survive within the isolation she’s found herself in. That’s what I think is at the root of this story — what it’s like to survive despite everything. Despite the trauma others build in us. • • • 🖤🖤🖤🖤
