The subject, looking into the camera, is a white man with short, thinning white hair and beard, wearing a green jacket, a red-checked shirt, and blue jeans, sitting on a dark-wood bench over a hardwood floor of lighter wood. Behind him is a color-field painting by Rothko: orange above black above white, hanging on a white wall.

Did I share this before? It's one of my favorite portraits of ME, taken by Pat, in a gallery devoted to paintings by Rothko, at the [US] National Gallery of Art, in Washington, DC. The painting is untitled, from 1955. I was a youthful 62 at the time.
