Farmagia was my #JRPGJuly game this year and it was quite fun. Not as complex as a Rune Factory (which will be a feature and not a bug for some folks), but really satisfying, tight gameplay loop with plenty of combat, farming, crafting, and socializing.
Soooooo…new game time: Octopath 2!
This was a #JRPGJuly fail from 2023. I just could not get into it and struggled to figure out why. Especially since I went on to plow 150 hours into COTC later that year.
Turns out I just hated Ochette’s story. Throné main this time, it’s going great.

So, #jrpgjuly is done and I didn’t beat metaphor. This game is an epic for sure. I’m still on course to beat it eventually though. I’m at 45 hours into it and there still seems to be a ton left to do.

Last day of #JRPGJuly & I've logged 19 hours & made it to Hollow Bastion in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix.
I'm not sure I'll finish today, but I'm really enjoying this playthrough. Proud mode seems even harder than Expert, & Ripple Drive is my favorite new ability.
About one more hour till I begin the last quest (64) of #JRPGJuly 2025!

I’ll be honest though, probably because of pure frustration I am way less interested in the rest of Xenosaga’s “mystery box” as I was at the end of Episode 1. Still, I trust that Episode 3 is as good as everyone says it is.

LOTR Keep your secrets meme
The gameplay really made me drag my feet through this game, but at least the story somewhat makes up for it. Jr, Momo, and Ziggy somewhat get some story beats and character growth while Shion and KOS-MOS get sidelined again. Meanwhile chaos is just there.
