On #ThisDayInHistory in 1577, #TychoBrahe first observed the #GreatComet. His very precise measurement of this non-periodic comet's movement helped his student, #JohannesKepler, develop a theory of elliptical orbits. Brahe himself was unable to shake the dogma of geocentrism.
