Overall I’m impressed with what #Jolla has pulled off with this phone. It’s a smart looking piece of kit and the attention is deserved. A lot of work still ahead of course but with everyone talking about digital sovereignty this could end up going places.

#Jolla is reporting that they crossed the 10K line, so maybe a little Mastodon push helped? The preorder page has disappeared in tracker form so not sure what the final tally was. They now seem to be selling follow up batches (1000 at a time?), to be delivered in autumn.
The new @jolla phone preorder has technically finished with 9837 sold, just short of 10K. However the ordering still seems to work so probably last moments to jump on board with a true alternative to the #smartphone duopoly (they run #Sailfish, a completely different OS developed in Finland) […]
