Today’s joyful beautiful thing is one of my new plants that I bought from a local bookstore that is sadly going out of business. It’s a Philodendron Heveraceum “Brasil”.

Two balls of blue cotton yarn rest on a metal baking sheet. The one on the right is more closely wound, with each wrap laying right next to the one before. The ball on the left started out that way, but then the yarn started to slip a little, so the outer wraps are spaced further apart, and go more on top and under the ball instead of along the edge, as the ball on the right does.

Today’s photo that brings joy is of my hand-wrapped yarn balls. These started out as store-wrapped yarn balls (using one of those plastic ball winders), but once the holes in the middle get too big, I rewind them by hand. It’s a meditative practice.
