And that's that; just as quickly as the winds kicked up, it's gone. Sky is brightening up, rain ended, light breeze, temperature falling: 11.5C. #NSStorm #NSwx near #Kentville

Ironic timing: EC dropped the wind warning for my area, and it flipped from quietly breezy to absolute rip roaring in an instant. #NSStorm #NSwx near #Kentville

Still only tummy-deep on a chihuahua. Snowfall amount is less of an issue than the greatly reduced visibility during wind gusts. #NSStorm #NSwx near #Kentville

8cm and reasonably fluffy. Visibility stinks, but at least it's not the "heart attack" snow that was expected. #NSStorm #NSwx near #Kentville

I'm not saying that this is the horror which awaits us; however, if this weekly storm pattern does continue, it's going to be hard not to be worried about a repeat of January-March 2015. (The attached snowbank photo was taken March 25th!) #NSStorm #NSwx near #Kentville

First cleanup done. Close to 30cm down and it's again snowing heavily. Hoping the second slug of snow overnight underperforms. ~~ Can't help but get that twitchy eye sensation that we're headed for another early-2015 winter stretch with a big storm like clockwork each week. #NSwx near #Kentville

Snow has picked up again; now as deep as a chihuahua is tall. That means the kids get to run leash-free during their pee break. 🌨️🐾🐾 (Currently: ~28cm, -9.9C, moderate snowfall, occasional light gust of wind) #NSStorm #NSwx near #Kentville

26cm and still accumulating. -11.7C, extra fluffy snow, wind calm. Cleanup should be fairly easy later. ❄️🪏🤞 #NSStorm #NSwx near #Kentville

Kentville Hosts Public Meeting Regarding Homelessness In The Area. Was A Great Success YouTube video by TalksWithNerds

#Kentville hosted a public meeting to discuss homelessness in the town and the province and what's being done.

This meeting not only helped with people's anger around homelessness but focused on key issues such as public safety regarding individuals who fall through current supports.

Shoulder-high on a chihuahua of fresh, heavy heart attack snow. That's as scientific as I'm getting this morning. Power has been out for several hours and, for once, I don't entirely blame NSP. #NSStorm #NSwx near #Kentville

Good day to stay at home in the valley if you're able: Multi-vehicle collision on the 101 near #Kentville -- up to 10 cars involved -- highway is closed between exits 12 and 13. Local chatter suggests that secondary routes are dangerously slick too, plus whiteout conditions in snow squalls. #NSwx

And just like that, from cloudy with the sun peeking through to a veritable blizzard with snow blowing sideways and visibility so low that it's hard to see across the street. Gotta love snow squalls! #NSwx near #Kentville

~5cm wet, sticky snow has fallen so far. Trees are heavily laden. Had a couple power dips in the last hour. Currently: 0.1C, 89% RH, 988mb, wind calm, snow has stopped. #NSStorm #NSwx near #Kentville

In case anyone is curious: It's still too windy to walk a 4lb chihuahua. #NSwx near #Kentville

It is f*ing miserable outside: Cold (-6.7C), damp (68% RH), gusty winds (~W25G35kph), blowing snow. Downright awful for shoveling and hauling firewood. -- I can deal with some snow, but this combination just cuts straight through you. #NSwx near #Kentville

A tad more snow than anticipated by the forecast this morning. Measured 17.5cm (10.6mm SWE) at 8:30am. Scientifically speaking, that's shoulder-deep to a chihuahua. ~~ Current conditions: -7.5C, 83% RH, 1006mb, light breeze with reduced visibility, mod-heavy snowfall. #NSStorm #NSwx near #Kentville.

Ah... The argumentative discourse between "Stay off the roads; it's too dangerous!" and "You're all a bunch of pansies; I made it to my destination just fine!" crowds is well and truly underway on local Facebook. -- Gawd, I hate people sometimes. It's exhausting. #NSStorm #NSwx near #Kentville

Happy "Why don't people have their f'ing snow tires on already?" Ranting Day. ~~ 4.5cm accumulation here. Valley roads were apparently quite treacherous in some places last night. Still a scum on the road this morning and people are whipping around like it's a dry summer day. #NSwx near #Kentville
