The #LASI7 post-conf fieldtrip in SE #Iceland was a blast!
On day 1 Gudmundur Omar took us into the heart of #Geitafell, once a central #volcano.
We saw the gabbro intrusion that once sat at 2-3 km depth, and the most impressive sheet intrusion complex above that once fed #lava flows!

I’ve been focussed on this area as a case study for mixing and mingling textures since the start of my PhD …
