#LastBirdOfMyDay - hearing the #geese (Pink-foot, Greylag and Canada) in the dark that are roosting on the outer Park that had been arriving earlier, skein after skein, from the West.
Last bird of my day: little Ray the Robin singing extraordinarily loudly from a tree in the back garden in the 5.30pm dusk. Truly uplifting moments.

#LastBirdOfMyDay - Many Geese…
Barn Owls for #FirstBirdOfMyDay and #LastBirdOfMyDay…
#FirstBirdOfMyDay = #LastBirdOfMyDay again. This time Owls having a bit of a set-to over something, probably just territory.
Been a good year for Owls here, Owl Boxes confirmed that for Barn Owls but notably plenty of Tawny Owls.
Why? #DeadHedges? Mix of #Trees in & around grazing pasture?
#FirstBirdOfMyDay was the same as the #LastBirdOfMyDay … honking Canada Geese going a heck of a lot quicker with the wind at their tails than this morning when they were going into it.
We are having a bit of hoolie in terms of winds and very heavy showers but notably warmer.
Costa del Carse of #Stirling giving a “Red Sky at Night”? False signal as rain is forecast?
Lots of #Geese on the move after flocks of Fieldfares & Redwings earlier.
Then, Hitchcock-esque numbers of crows before this picture (from their post-ploughing worm hunting?).
#LastBirdOfMyDay #Birds
#Geese lifting off from one of their favourite spots here, the sheep- & cattle-grazing pasture on either side of the #RiverForth, though about a 1/3 were on the Barley stubble.
Mostly Pinkfoot, but there were Greylag, Canada and some Barnacle earlier. #LastBirdOfMyDay.
#Meiklewood. #Stirling #Birds
9.45pm, and a blackbird is singing from a rooftop as the almost full, yellow-orange Buck Moon rises #LastBirdOfMyDay
From the hotel window right now… #FirstBirdOfMyDay and also #LastBirdOfMyDay 😺 #ZamekKarpniki #SchlossFischbach
#SongThrushes still going strong after 10pm…
They’ll be up and at it at ~4.45am.
What stamina.

5.10am is not early enough for the true #DawnChorus these days, but the #FirstBirdOfMyDay Choir were in pretty good voice. Song Thrushes were the lead sopranos…
… and yet again they were my #LastBirdOfMyDay last night.
They sure do have some energy.
Not #FirstBirdOfMyDay but more like #LastBirdOfMyDay … what a gorgeous evening.

#LastBirdOfMyDay (before the Owls come on duty) : the variation & volume of the Song Thruses & Blackbirds.
Started at ~5am and winding down at 9.30pm; a long day for them and they’ve been at it non stop.
Lovely to see the bats above the sheep, taking over from the House & Sand Martins & Swallows.
Last bird of the day: the beautiful hunting flight of a barn owl. Not at all bothered by me it seemed as it quartered a field just yards away from me. #LastBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours
Lovely serene moment with a pair of mute swans on lake edge in Lausanne #LastBirdOfMyDay @hannahbournetaylor.bsky.social
Blackbird #FirstBirdOfMyDay and also #LastBirdOfMyDay, which also made it #LastBirdOfMyYear. Thanks Hannah for running this series throughout the year; always entertaining.
#LastBirdOfMyDay was a raven appearing out of the misty gloom just before 4:00pm. What a dull and miserable day, but thank heavens for amazing birds to brighten the mood
