I remember the #PS1 days, #LegendsofMana was mediocre with flat story, clunky controls but impressive audiovisuals. This is why it works as a HD remaster. The hand-drawn backgrounds are gorgeous, enemy design is Mana-typical marvellous and the epic OST got some polishing. Controls are still bad.
