This is probably one of the hardest psalms; a tortured groan without hope of one in pain. It's easy to just make platitudes but this is a sincere call to seek out others in need and help for them: stopping them from asking "why God?" and instead to be healed.

We need to have hope and joy in God and our faith; to do otherwise is to drain us. The psalmist trusts in God's protection, and wether we see it here or in the here-after we will be saved. The hope of youth and the past should not be forgotten no matter what.
