Both beetles are basically pill-shaped and mottled brown, gray, and, and black, though brown is the dominant color with these two.

I also observed these beetles #mating more than once. However, the second photo is interesting as it shows 2 females in a mating position, with a male looking on from a short distance 😂. I observed females "mating" quite a few times over the season...
