The handrail stretches into the distance and curves gently to the right following the path, down a slope, before it disappears into the dark.
While the lamp light is really bright in the near vicinity, a tiny speck of light - the other side of a dark stretch of path downhill - is visible as the next lamp in the distance.
The gravity of this light in the dark becomes stark when you learn this path is part of a 200-step switchback climb up/down a cliff face in Saxony, Germany - a frequented ‘shortcut’ from the train station below to the hotel on the cliff-top.
Bright light will always banish the dark ... pass it on 🤍
