He blinks to switch the teardrop's position to the other side, only to feel more asymmetric thus blinking again back to the right eye. Dialogue 1: "Mercury's right eye pupil is shaped like a gray teardrop. Occasionally, seeing the asymmetry of his eyes distracts him." 2: "He can move the teardrop to his left eye, but he'll end up feeling it's more uneven." 3: "As one person, he can't make both eyes the same pupil shape." 4: "Now it's back to the right eye, or maybe back to the left eye...?"

I am sometimes nitpicky with when specific things aren't symmetrical.
