Flowers provide lots of nectar & pollen with its numerous stamens and pistils. Flowers have are 1.5 to 2 inches in length and yellow and orange in color. This tree is a larval host plant for the following butterflies: Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilo glaucus), Spicebush Swallowtail (Papilio troilus), and the Viceroy (Limenitis archippus). Hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, birds, and ants (zoom in!) feed on the flowers.

The Tulip Popular Tree flowers bloom way up high in its canopy, and then they fall to the ground. It’s a powerhouse tree for wildlife: attracts pollinators, serves as a food source & larval host, and provides nesting sites. Can reach to 100 feet. Alt-text for more info #liriodendrontulipifera

A very large tulip poplar tree with gray bark, sprawling limbs, and golden yellow leaves. There are a few leaves on the grass at the base of the tree. Beyond is a green and yellow grassy park setting dotted with dark green trees. There is clear light blue sky above.

Photo d'un Tulipier de Virginie (Liriodendron tulipifera), majestueux en costume d'automne, avec, à son pied, une étendue herbeuse bien verte où paît un cheval bien blanc. Le ciel est gris-blanc et moche mais on s'en fout... La différence ici est que l’image traitée à la façon d’un film Kodak Ektachrome Infrarouge et donc, les feuilles des arbres affichent différentes teintes de rose alors que l’herbe verte apparaît couleur framboise-écrasée voire beaujolais nouveau. Le cheval n’a pas l’air affecté outre mesure par ce traitement.
