International Long Covid Awareness
Today is the last day of International Long Covid Awareness Month, but for millions of people suffering from Long Covid, this is not the end of anything. It is ongoing, daily, and life-altering.

Long Covid continues to impact peoples’ livelihoods and futures, yet the global response still falls incredibly short. Governments and healthcare systems must do more!

We saw many buildings/landmarks lit teal for Long Covid, politicians speaking about Long Covid, proclamations, resolutions, and demonstrations. Awareness is important and creates a base of knowledge we hope continues to spread. What we need to see further is real and immediate action from our governments, health agencies, researchers, and medical fields!

We need more than words. We urgently need prevention. We need care. We need tests. We need treatments. We need solutions!

Long Covid must be recognized for what it is: an international public health emergency that needs dedicated funding and support.

Grateful to all the Long Covid patients who have worked so hard to raise awareness this month. Your voices and efforts matter so much!
A heartfelt thank you as well to the allies, caregivers, and supporters who stand beside this community, we appreciate you more than words can express!

Long Covid awareness is every single day. For some, that means using whatever limited energy we have to push through the year to keep working on awareness projects behind the scenes or continuing to raise awareness in our daily lives, all while managing appointments and getting through each day with our symptoms.

We’re starting planning for next year now, so please start sharing your ideas and suggestions for 2027 International Long Covid Awareness Day/Week/Month!

Screenshot from a video clip of a Times Square livestream. It's night and there are lots of electronic billboards. There's a billboard reading "International Long Covid Awareness Day, March 15th" on the left; there's a gray-and-teal image of a ribbon on the billboard. There are other electronic billboards lining the street, all on the top half of the screenshot. It's evening. There are lots of people walking around, and there are cars in the street.

Every day is Long Covid Awareness Day!
Today, March 15, the world comes together for International Long Covid Awareness Day. A day centered on raising awareness of Long Covid and amplifying the voices of those suffering from Long Covid.
It’s a day for patients, allies, researchers, and healthcare workers to unite across borders to raise awareness together about Long Covid and push for prevention, recognition, protective policies, funding, research, patient-led research, proper testing, validated biomarkers, and diagnosis, equitable care, global equity in care and research, disability support, workplace and school accommodations, education for clinicians, and the urgent development of effective treatments and a cure. This day is about pushing for all of these priorities and so much more!

Ways to participate today and throughout Long Covid Awareness Week:
➡️ Mask up in public spaces (if you can) to help prevent infections and reinfections.
➡️ Participate in social media activities:
Share your story or lived experience
Use the Long Covid awareness profile ring for your profile photo
Boost and repost Long Covid patient voices
➡️ Join an online event: attend a Space, webinar, panel, or patient discussion
➡️ Attend a demonstration
➡️ Wear Long Covid awareness colors: teal, gray, and black
➡️ Take photos of buildings and landmarks illuminated in Long Covid colors, or light up your home or business, and share them online
➡️ Support the community (if you are able) by donating to mutual aid requests, research, or advocacy groups
➡️ Check the many actions and events on social media and the ILCA website calendar: https://www.longcovidawareness.life/calendar
