I'm not sure that's right. A bigger issue is that we do very little to keep people active (which has a huge effect on maintaining independence) & lifestyles are often sedentary.

Things like #LiveableNeighbourhoods are helpful here but result in screaming from the car lobby. #PreventativeHealthcare

Building towns & cities around private cars has stripped children of their independence. To fix this we must develop #LiveableNeighbourhoods, #SchoolStreets and #ActiveTravel infrastructure - it's no wonder Dutch children are shown to be the happiest @walkridegm.org.uk @triciaayr.bsky.social
