“If these findings are confirmed by future, more definitive studies…”
What would a more definitive study be? An RCT where you are randomised to being lonely?😭
I am joking of course, but it always seems that #LivingWithAndBeyondCancer research must pass some unattainable bar before being accepted
Incredibly powerful story - read this to understand the serious long term impact that cancer treatment can have on health and wellbeing.
🙏 thank you for sharing Ellie

A wonderful day in the company of the excellent Cancer Alliances’ leadership group for #LivingWithAndBeyondCancer 🙌
Great discussions around the new cancer plan 👏😀
(Also did one of my better cheesey yolks IYKYK 🐣😬🫠)
“…surgical treatment was associated with improved survival, but also more symptom interference in general activities and work. These results may be useful in palliative surgical decision-making and informing patients during consultation for malignant bowel obstruction.”
#LivingWithAndBeyondCancer
Congratulations on what I’m sure has been a fabulous day! 👏👏
Will undoubtedly help further advance @nhs-wca.bsky.social great work on #LivingWithAndBeyondCancer 🙌
📣 Don’t forget! The sooner you respond to the Govt call for evidence for the new England national cancer plan, the better, especially on #LivingWithAndBeyondCancer (my favourite subject 😀).

@lesleysmith.bsky.social presenting the national context for #LivingWithAndBeyondCancer as part of cancer alliance work here at The Northern Cancer Alliance Share and Learn event in Durham
The analysis is “unique in that we evaluated participants who began their treatment with robust functional status, demonstrating the association of treatment toxicities with functional decline is not limited to those already experiencing deficits.”

Great to see mention of cancer survivorship studies being an important part of the role of cancer registries.
As the piece says, we need to “understand the statistics of cancer in order to provide more equitable and inclusive care for all”.
#LivingWithAndBeyondCancer
Brilliant to see another new #radiotherapy #LateEffects service open. Very many thanks to Macmillan & all involved. This will be a huge help to people affected by #PelvicRadiationDisease and other long term side effects of radiotherapy 😀👏
