The interior of Granite Butte Lookout tower, returned to how it was before I entered it. I swept the floor. I chopped wood,to replace the wood I used. I reattached the shutters. Always treat these places with respect, they’re maintained for our benefit.

I left the Lookout today- It was an amazing experience, and I really didn’t want to leave it, but my reservation was up.
Next year, I will come back to this one. Too good to never return again-even with the wind.

Well, today is Friday…I took the day off, and made the climb up to a place I had reserved months in advance. This is new to me. I’ve never done the kinds of trails I just did to get up here.

Perched on top of a Rocky Mountain is a fire lookout tower with large windows on all four sides plus a ham radio tower with satellite dishes. There is a dirt road leading up to the tower and a man is at the top of the road near the building. The sky is blue, and mountain tops can be seen in the distance.

A front view of my newest C.A.M.P. Sandwiched between a derelict wooden tower (on the left most side) and a Ranger Lookout Tower (on right), sits a refurbished train car and a small beaten down shack. All of which has a river flowing below it from the horizontal towards the camera.

Inside the top of the lookout tower. There is a fridge with a radio on top of it (which is tuned to Appalachia Radio). A row of prayer candles line the staircase descending down. In the opposite corner of fridge sits a goatman broadcasting his own radio program.

In the center of the top floor of the C.A.M.P. is a message board displaying two posters for questlines. On the right of the board is a small pawn style vending machine selling old plans. To the left is a Special Build machine. Sitting behind is the big blue refurbished train car.

Inside the train car, lit by oil lamp posts, are the various crafting benches needed to survive in Appalachia. Prominently lit is my orange Mr. Fuzzy Tinker Bench.

Spent a long time on this but finally made a C.A.M.P. that feels like home! Built right over a stream, it has quite the view! 🏞
