Steinman, who described the Immune System as a two-part system, consisting of innate immunity for a rapid response to infection, and adaptive immunity for infection clearing and memory.
Thorsten Nürnberger gave the Reinhold-von-Sengbusch Lecture at #MBP2025 as a short history of #PlantImmunity. One cornerstone was the 30-year journey from the discovery of the fungal elicitor Pep-13 (shorturl.at/7AoNg) to the identification of its PERU receptor in wild potatos (shorturl.at/KGK4N).
