This one started on the bass, before moving the intro riff to the keys & then funkying up the bass, adding some guitars and an organ! On first listen, it seems that the lyrics & the music don’t really match. 🧵

It started as a Motown-ish bass line that I slowed down and added some delightful double-stop guitar licks. It’s quite stripped back in instrumentation

This week’s #madeinchinaalbum track intro is a fun one! You could say it is the quirky track of the album for two reasons: music & lyrical content!
Musically, it’s a gritty bluesy riff to open, with a groovy bass line and crisp duelling guitars in the verse and chorus. 🧵
Track 5 of #MadeInChinaAlbum is a sad one for me, but also holds great memories. I started out wanting to write a ‘And Your Bird Can Sing’ styled dual-guitar riff. This is definitely one to listen with headphones as the interplay between the two guitars and the bass is pretty darn cool! 🧵
