Love this teapot. It had a tea-cozy on so didn't see the design. Looks very on trend, I'd definitely make something like this at pottery.
Unfortunately back stamp just says 'made in England' but found out it's Arthur Woods so local pottery #madeinstoke #pottery #teapot #vintageteapot

A painting by Paine Proffitt featuring the ceramics industry of Stoke-On-Trent. The piece is painted to look like a vintage advertising poster of the 1920s or 1930s. The background is split in half with the top half painted a textured white and the bottom half painted a textured dark red with the faint weathered hint of old advertising writing. On the top half is a stylised head and shoulders of a woman with 1920s 1930s hair with blue eyes, red lips and a white hairband in her hair. She holds her hand up to feature an old bottle kiln, the distinctive building-size ovens used to fire ceramics in Stoke-On-Trent. Puffs of smoke come from the bottle oven. On the bottom half of the piece is a black band with the words STOKE-ON-TRENT on it in white and a white tea pot with a light blue flower pattern.

A painting by Paine Proffitt featuring life at a pot bank, one of the pottery factories in Stoke-On-Trent. The artwork featuring a montage of different jobs in the ceramics industry. In the middle is a man in a flatcap, apron and working clothes, and a woman wearing an apron, long blue working dress and her hair tied back in a bun and a hair band. The man holds several teapots on a wood plank resting on his shoulder. The woman holds a tray of dozens of teacups. Behind them are bottle kilns, the traditional factory ovens used for making pottery, and they're blowing black smoke from their chimneys into a dirty, pale sky with black stars above. On the right is a wavey vine pattern that might appear as a design on pottery. There is also the head and shoulders of a woman wearing a blue 1930s style hat, painting blue stars on pottery. On the left is a woman in traditional factory workers clothes putting designs on a plate. There's also an image of a steaming cup of tea and a ceramic tea pot. Scattered around the painting are the names of jobs in the ceramic industry, painted in cursive handwriting. Names like COD PLACER, SPONGE FETTLER, BOARD CARRIER, SLIP CASTER, BACK STAMPER.

A painting by Paine Proffitt featuring an oatcake maker. Oatcakes are a traditional food, like a thick crepe or floppy pancake, usually served with savory breakfast fillings like egg, bacon, sausage, cheese, etc. The oatcake maker is at his hot stove making oatcakes and is in the process of flipping the oatcakes over. He's wearing a light and dark blue striped apron, collared work shirt and flatcap. Behind him on the right is a chalk menu board, cash till and pot of batter with a spoon in it. Behind him on the left is a window with OATCAKES written on the outside and stacks of oatcakes on the inside windowsill. Outside of the window is a row of terraced houses and bottle kiln chimneys behind them with black smoke being blown into a blue sky with white clouds.

A painting by Paine Proffitt looking at the hard and dangerous work of the working class. Along the bottom are brown brick factories with various styles of smoke stacks and chimneys blowing out black smoke into a dirty pale sky. About half way down the painting, the smoke has gathered to make a black sky. In this black sky, which makes the top half of the painting, there is a factory worker in a flatcap and worker's clothing. The worker has a skull for a face and floats over the factory town.
