In English we call the book of Mao's quotations "the Little Red Book" so I thought 小红书 (Little Red Book/ RedNote) was a play on that.... turns out not at all.
The Mao book is called 红宝书 ("Red Treasured Book") in Chinese.

Using something like ChatGPT (the paid version) is amazing at Mandarin language learning/correction if you use customized GPTs.
For example, you can use a "Chinese tutor" or "EN-CN Translator" GPT. These were trained with more relevant information and can learn from the data you give it. #mandsky

Hmm really depends on the level. I can understand giving up on graded readers; some of them really don't have interesting enough stories. One option is also to read your favorite book in Chinese. I use the Pleco document reader to look up words in digital copies and add to flash cards. #mandsky

I feel the nature of Mandarin makes it ideal for rap as long as you understand flow. When I first learned Chinese I didn’t understand how they kept the tones in songs let alone rap but now I feel tones help guide the flow if that makes sense. #therapofchina #mandsky

I really liked DuChinese for learning Mandarin but the advanced texts were frustratingly easy to read. Good if you’re just trying to improve vocabulary, but not if you’re trying to improve both vocabulary AND reading comprehension.
