A digitally reconstructed, true-color map of Mars, revealing its entire surface. Features like the Tharsis volcanoes (taller than Earth's mountains), Valles Marineris (a canyon far exceeding the Grand Canyon), and the Hellas Planitia impact basin are clearly visible. The image is based on data from the Mars Global Surveyor's laser altimeter. Mars' northern lowlands and southern highlands are also depicted.

Curiosity rover self-portrait in Gale Crater on Mars during a planet-wide dust storm. The image shows reduced visibility due to the storm; the rover's drill site "Duluth" is visible in the foreground. The crater rim is visible in the distance. This is a mosaic of images taken by the Mars Hand Lens Imager (MAHLI).
