I was not expecting to love the #MartinPuryear show as much as I did, but it was absolutely lovely.

The sculpture, created in 2006-07, is made from painted and unpainted pine and is mounted on a found wheelbarrow. The central element is a large, white, mask-like form that is surrounded by a dense, cage-like structure of wooden sticks. The title "C.F.A.O." stands for "Compagnie Française de l'Afrique Occidentale," a French trading company that operated in West Africa.
