While I appreciate some may disagree with Ms Forstater’s view that Dr Levy’s review should have examined the effectiveness of treatments offered by adult gender dysphoria clinics, freedom of expression is an important principle that supports informed public debate. 

Her comments were not given undue weight, her organisation’s stance was made transparent, and readers were able to assess her remarks alongside the other viewpoints represented in the article.

I am therefore satisfied the inclusion of Ms Forstater did not breach the editorial standards for due impartiality and so I do not have grounds to uphold your complaint.

There is no further right of appeal against this decision within the BBC’s complaints process. 

However, you can ask Ofcom to consider your complaint and the BBC’s decision.

Outcome: #BBC Executive Complaints Unit’s investigation on #MayaForstater being invited to comment upon unacceptable waits for adult gender clinic appointments, in their article. As expected no joy - BBC, as they see themselves; are right. They've inbuilt latitude a Snr individual imo may exploit.

a. This judgment does not mean that the EAT has expressed any view on the merits of either side of the transgender debate and nothing in it should be regarded as so doing.

The Claimant, like everyone else, will continue to be subject to the prohibitions on discrimination and harassment that apply to everyone else. Just thought it worthwhile posting the very important caveats to the #MayaForstater Tribunal Appeal that determined that Gender Critical Beliefs are a protected characteristic but NOT however a Licence to proceed without caution for the other protections society has laid down on Civil Behaviours!
