Just released a new crate called opslag.

It's a no_std mDNS service discovery implementation in pure Rust.

I'm hacking around with some embedded STM32 hardware and I couldn't find any suitable mDNS lib for such a use case.

Have you heard about #mDNS? It's one of those protocols that go under the radar, but that can really wreak havoc on your network if you don't manage it.

While mainly used for consumer stuff, expect to see it in your network. It uses link local multicast so gets flooded at L2.

#Avahi ( #DNSSD / #RFC6763 / #mDNS / #RFC6762) is always UNSECURE, no fixed #CVE, latest build is 0.8.0 from 2020-02-18. I have specified it since a long time, there is a ticket here: github.com/avahi/avahi/...

The hits keep coming. It was stunningly fast to use systemd-networkd to setup a bridge such that I could crossover a desktop to it & share wifi.
