MEETINGS 2025 sets stage for milestone 2026 event at NZICC New Zealand’s biggest trade show for the business events industry, MEETINGS 2025 continues to gain momentum in attendance and reputation as next year’s venue prepares for  opening.Over 1,200 people attended the 28th MEETINGS across two days at Auckland Showgrounds, with a record 250 stands representing 18 regions of New Zealand. Over 540 buyers and media attended, a 69% increase on the 2024 number, including a record 126 buyers and media from Australia.

Day one started with breakfast at the revolving restaurant on Auckland’s iconic Sky Tower. The early start was chosen so we could watch the sunrise – all we saw was cloud.

The importance of acknowledging Māori at NZ events One of the important aspects of events held in New Zealand is the acknowledgement and involvement of the Māori. During my visits to NZ for the Meetings expos I have observed how BEIA involve the local Māori in their events. To find out more I sat down with Kiriana Koni, Māori Development Manager at Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, who explained the background to the welcome ceremony.

Meetings 2025 closing celebration goes nautical The venue for the nautical themed closing celebration of Meetings 2025 was the Viaduct Events Centre which opened in 2011 as a multi-purpose events centre. From 2018 to 2022 the venue served as home base for Team New Zealand when they defended the America’s Cup against a challenger from Italy. Although New Zealand were the successful winners, and the New Zealand government were keen to host the next challenge, the venue for the 2024 challenge was in Spain (and of course New Zealand won again).

MEETINGS 2025 closes with Auckland waterfront celebration New Zealand’s biggest business events showcase, MEETINGS 2025 closed on a high with a celebration event at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre for 700 guests, following 8,000 meetings across two days at Auckland Showgrounds. Over 1,200 people attended MEETINGS this year and comments from both exhibitors and buyers confirmed it was a must-attend event on the Asia-Pacific calendar.
