A metal detectorist in central Norway recently discovered a Viking Age metal brooch. But when he led archaeologists to the site, they found much more: a burial with evidence of an unusual ritual they had never seen before.

A source has shown me posts by a #MetalDetectorist claiming to have recovered and removed parts from a crashed military aircraft from a known crash site.

Chelmsford.Museum has acquired the, so called, Great Baddow Hoard.

The hoard was discovered by #MetalDetectorist Shane Wood, detecting without permission.

Wood admitted the theft of 23 coins & failing to notify the coroner of the find under the Treasure Act.
