Yes so it seems Clare … however it did when we went on route to #MigFest but it was that day it disappeared 🧐
I want to say a huge thank you to @spurnbirdobs.bsky.social for choosing my photo (below) to win the #Migfest Moment photo competition, and to Zeiss for providing the winner's award of top-class binoculars, which I have already begun using! #photography #birds #wildlife

First visit to @spurnbirdobs.bsky.social for #migfest - lots to explore with loads of Meadow Pipits on the move. Really enjoyed the weekend, interesting talks and great to meet with friends, old and new. The Red-necked Phalarope was a fantastic find by @adamfaiers.bsky.social #Spurnbirds
I really enjoyed #Migfest 2025. A chance to catch up with lots of long-standing friends & make new ones. A memorable walk to the Point on Sat. A loop via Beacon Ponds on Sun ending with a dash to see the Red-necked Phalarope. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make the weekend such a success.

It *may* have turned round shortly after - but for a moment it was a magnificent migrant with the Meadow Pips.

I was very pleased that the Wryneck at @landguardbo.bsky.social decided to stay around until I got home from #Migfest! I had to be patient but eventually it showed really well this morning. It’s now been present for eight days.
If you were considering subscribing to #TheTwoJonnies channel, I'd do it now. Ready for the #Migfest content to drop!

Spectacular weekend at Spurn for my third #Migfest. Highlights included this phenomenal Phalarope, over 6,500 Mipits counted during my vismig session on Sunday morning, and the great company of both old and new friends. Will definitely be back for more next year! @spurnbirdobs.bsky.social

Another great @spurnbirdobs.bsky.social #MIGFEST draws to a close, and what a blast it was... as usual, Richard and I gave talks and led walks, but, as usual, the highlight was catching up with our wonderful wider community....
*Thanks to Oliver (and mum Liz) for letting us use this photo!
Birders waiting around in the early hours in a field with a spotting scope visible in the front of frame, a structure and some bushes are seen in the background.
An array of windmills out to sea with the sun rising behind them.
A small brown bird chilling on a beach, it is looking to its right. (An Arctic Skua)
Two small wading birds walking in some mudflats, surrounded by water and rocks. (Curlew Sandpiper and Dunlin)

A lovely Red-necked Phalarope @spurnbirdobs.bsky.social #migfest last weekend, a great event and nice to see lots of young people engaging with conversation.

I am really intuitive with camera settings and had barely any help from @timsbirding.bsky.social or anyone.

Looking forward to #Migfest tomorrow. Headed up early to allow an extra day’s birding. Found a confiding Dipper on the edge of the N York Moors before enjoying a magical time with the Gannets at Bempton. Hornsea Mere was very birdy: 3 Black Terns, Little Gull, 3 Little Stints, 2 Curlew Sandpipers.
If you’re visiting #migfest call in at the BOC stand and have a go at our bird quiz (it’s easy!) and win a beautiful @spurnbirdobs Teeshirts (choice of colour & size!)
Might not pitch my tent immediately on arrival 😬 #migfest
