It’s unfortunate that many #LowTrafficNeighbourhood schemes in Greater Manchester were watered down or abandoned.

We call on @rochdalecouncil.bsky.social to revisit the #MilkstoneAndDeeplish scheme, with the health, air quality and road safety benefits this would bring.

What’s true in London will be true in our other towns and cities. The benefits of #ActiveNeighbourhoods are becoming overwhelming, and we need action, and now. Reinstate the #MilkstoneAndDeeplish trial.

We are shocked and appalled to learn of this child’s death.

This demonstrates that residential streets are not suitable for through traffic, & @rochdalecouncil.bsky.social has a responsibility to ensure #MilkstoneAndDeeplish gets the measures it deserves to reduce this, & now.

Why? Aside from the direct benefits to those living in the scheme, especially children & the elderly, the #MilkstoneAndDeeplish LTN would have filled the gap between #Phase2 of the Beeline & the #A671 improvements, & would have improved walking & cycling access to the station @walkridegm.org.uk

It’s a real shame that antisocial behaviour from an entitled few stymied the #MilkstoneAndDeeplish #LowTrafficNeighbourhood trial @walkridegm.org.uk
