The most successful #NHL teams are strong down the middle. The centre position is a key to success. In less than two years at the helm in Toronto, GM Brad #Treliving has disposed of three of them - Fraser #Minten, Nicolas #Roy and Scott #Laughton.
Easton #Cowan is being hailed as the #Leafs best young hope, but he is 29th in points per game for #NHL rookies this season. Forsaken Leaf Fraser #Minten is 26th. The latter is bigger, taller and has far more upside because he's a centre.
I keep dreaming that the #Leafs ice a line with Fraser #Minten centring Easton #Cowan and Nikita #Grebenkin.
Oh well.
Looking at the rest of the schedule & the #Leafs have a great chance at finishing at about a .460 win rate. That should be good enough to finish in the bottom five and a chance to protect that first round pick they gave to Boston (along with promising young centre Fraser #Minten), Brandon #Carlo.
Sources are saying #Leafs GM Brad Treliving will dangle big, seasoned right shot D-man Brandon #Carlo at the June draft for Fraser #Minten and a first-round pick from #Boston. Piece of cake. Done deal. Who wouldn't jump at that?
The #Leafs appear to be heading for a 25th or 26th place overall finish in the 2025-26 #NHL season. That would be icing on the cake that GM Brad #Treliving gifted Boston when they included a top-5 protected first-rounder along with centre Fraser #Minten.... for mediocre D-man Brandon #Carlo.
Fans of the #Leafs are terrified that the incompetent #Treliving (see #Minten) will steer this battered ship to a 27-28th overall finish, handing the #Bruins more of their future.
