At the same time these lambs were being inspected, Jesus Christ, the Creator of the universe, rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, presenting Himself as King and submitting Himself to be examined by the people. Celebrated yesterday, this event is known as the Triumphal Entry and fulfills the prophecy recorded about five hundred years earlier in Zechariah 9:9. The inspection and sacrifice of these physical lambs foreshadowed the true Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, who was ultimately sacrificed for the sins of the world.
