A red brick in the back wall of a house has been chiselled out with the initials JH and the date 1868 that has been worn over time, making it difficult to read. The brick is also near the roof on the first floor of the house, so not easy to access. Camera: iPhone 15 Pro.
My home is the oldest I have ever lived in. It is a tiny mid-terrace house, once farm workers’ rented accommodation. I know when it was built because of this engraved brick in the back wall. JH might have been the builder.
