I stopped by #MontezumaNWR today.

Saw at least four eagles not including this one. One flew by and landed in a tree visible through my sunroof.

Went back and had a look, some pics from phone and old beat up Nikon backup cam (trusty Pentax throwing errors, time to get some film). Let me show you beaver! Tree swallow, happy mute swan(s) & canadian geese having a bumpy relationship. #MontezumaNWR #birdsky #SenecaFallsNY

Common terns gather on a mound in blue reflective water as small ducks wade nearby. Terns are white gull-like birds with black streaks atop their heads and bright red-orange bills

A Wilson’s Snipe is at the center of the image - it is in a marshy, watery environment skulking about for food. It’s a bird with a prominent black beak that’s long & pointy, a light brown & white speckled body.

Lovely venture out to #MontezumaNWR near #SenecaFallsNY yesterday for easy, recuperative #birding (all trails closed for hatching season & I’m still short of breath, win-win). Not a banner picture day, but saw a beaver! Added 8 to my life list- love for Wilson’s Snipe & Northern Shovelers are units!
