Since everyone has moon fever, here's some background art for my VN #MoonlightDirge. I've finally found a method I like of sort of translating my painting style into digital!

I'm doing the thing, really. Writing the script.

I finished setting up #MoonlightDirge 's structure and UI today so I can start the writing/art/music. It will be a no choices VN, just a story with visuals and audio to enhance the experience.
Still no timeframe estimate though, and I'm not sure whether to release it in parts or as a full story.
Screenshot of the work-in-progress visual novel 'Moonlight Dirge' title screen. The cover art features the title in the center of a moon, held by an angel on one side and a demon on the other.
90% of the work hours on this is are going to end up being GUI customization, I swear to god. #indiedev #visualnovel #moonlightdirge

Icon/Logo for #MoonlightDirge finished tonight, but no more updates to the actual game.

Editing chapter 7 of #MoonlightDirge, it's absolutely my favorite. When Tsukino first is freed from the angelic mind control and starts to talk to Seiza. <3
I've been writing a lot lately, trying to finally finish this for publishing.
I guess I will release the #MoonlightDirge novel when the world is a better place...or when I'm rich enough to get away with it.
There's no place for it right now and I'm sick of watering down and trimming it.
A 'six art styles' thing I did a long time ago of Tsukino from my novel #MoonlightDirge
(it's that old, ugh...)
'My Style' here is incredibly outdated but still fun to look at this.

But I finished editing three entire chapters of #MoonlightDirge and that is such a huge victory after feeling unmotivated to do it at all for such a long time. It's definitely good medicine to know that.
An excerpt from the work-in-progress novel reads, He backed up, letting some of the anger die from his face, and turned to touch the leaves of a tree with ever-so-slightly trembling fingers. "...so just...do what you want to do. I have no choice but to go along with whatever you say and I'll probably be killed or tortured otherwise. There is no hope for me, so I don't care. But don't waste your breath, because I'll never trust you." Seiza stood still, watching Tsukino trace the veins of a leaf, wings drooped lazily behind him. He drew a few steps closer slowly and spoke again in a gentler voice than before. "...I wouldn't expect you to believe something I told you without any proof. That...is something a god would do. I'm no god, and I've never been an angel. You will have to decide the truth for yourself here, and come to your own understanding of the world." Tsukino lifted his eyes slowly. They were glazed, but they'd cooled down as his emotions settled over Seiza's words. His small pinkish lips whispered faintly, "But you'd tell a lie to get what you wanted. That's something...anyone would do. God, Devil, or human."
Still sick so I laid in bed and finished chapter 4 of #MoonlightDirge today. Seiza is giving Tsukino a tour of Hell, but it doesn't seem like he's too keen on the idea...

Tsukino and Seiza both have Japanese names, but the story does not take place in Japan. Heaven and Hell are a fantasy blend of various cultures across time that draw from those of Earth. The demons' & angels' appearances are quite diverse.

Tsukino is represented by the Hanged Man in the back cover art for #MoonlightDirge.
Inversion of perspectives, gaining knowledge through perceptive listening and stillness, learning through suffering, and accepting events rather than trying to change them.

An excerpt from the queer erotic fantasy novel reads: "I'll introduce myself. My name is Seiza, General of the-" "I remember. I could care less about your name." Tsukino spat, cutting him off. Seiza paused and smiled again, highly amused by the fearless attitude. The sour and moody captive turned his head and stared out the window, expressing disinterest in whatever it was the general had to say. After a quick muted laugh, Seiza's voice carried on filling the silence of the room. "General Tsukino..." The freshly converted demon turned his head slightly in a show of attention, but didn't speak. "...are you surprised that I know your name?" Tsukino didn't answer. He simply rolled over and leaned on his arm, avoiding eye contact defiantly. Seiza chuckled inaudibly again at the display and climbed onto the bed with catlike strides to relax on the bed beside him, propped up on his elbow and swishing his long tail slowly and idly through the air. He reached over and took Tsukino's chin into the forefinger and thumb of one hand, turning him over just enough to stare into his eyes. "You were brought here for me."
I finished editing #MoonlightDirge chapter 3.
I'm actually gonna publish this eventually, I swear. I'm sick so I'm in bed early writing on my laptop.
Archdemon captures archangel, what's that feisty Tsukino gonna do? :3
