Enjoying the UK CoARA National Chapter event today. Great to hear Emma Butler's overview of the University of Derby's work to implement CoARA Commitment 4 on avoiding the use of rankings in research assessment. This has included adopting the @inorms-reg.bsky.social #MoreThanOurRank initiative. 😀

The only annual ranking launch to bring a smile to my face is the @cwtsleiden rankings as I scroll down and see all the INORMS #MoreThanOurRank signatories highlighted. 🤩

5) Provide qualitative data alongside the quantitative. Perhaps using #MoreThanOurRank statements where HEIs showcase all the stuff that can’t be counted. But don’t just talk about recognising that HEIs are “much much more than their rank”, do something about it. 6/6

First look at Piper Whisky Bar's new lounge opening in March - DRAM Scotland The Piper Whisky Bar in Glasgow's George Square is opening it's new Whisky Lounge in early March after a make-over. Gillian Kirkland, who is celebrating her 10th anniversary of running the bar said, “I turned the pub to a Whisky Bar eight years ago and the malt count currently stands at over 200. It's been a great 10 years, but I wanted to create more space for private functions and our whisky tasting events.
