We rigged up the test #MotusWTS #sensrognome receiver today and yesterday to look at range and see where we should put the real thing at Stala and Kartong Bird Observatory. Did some walk tests with the tag - channelling my inner nightingale!
Doing some cool but challenging sciencing in the Gambia 🐦📡
Testing out the detection range for a #MotusWTS installation 🤞
So many cool species seen as well, lots of ideas for projects! @ecobird.bsky.social @fwovlaanderen.bsky.social
A scientific milestone once considered impossible.
Huge gratitude to all of our partners from 2023 to today: #CMPASC, #MotusWTS, @birdscanada.bsky.social, @xercessociety.bsky.social and the incredible community of researchers who made this dream real. We've only just begun! 🦋

Adventure time! Off to Kartong Bird Observatory in the Gambia to test out #MotusWTS using a mobile #Sensorgnome and @lotektelemetry.bsky.social Nanotag!
Me and my load of tech and trusty duct tape will be repping @ecobird.bsky.social funded by @fwovlaanderen.bsky.social.
🐦📡
An impressive amount of data from 1 Skylark! Again, showing the effectiveness and versatility of Motus!

Really nice info on one of the coolest migration stories going.
This is what #motuswts can do now- these teeny tiny @celltracktech.bsky.social blu series tags can follow the smallest of creatures.
Our VP of Global Market Development was across the pond contributing to a special symposium on European #MotusWTS last week during the @eounion.bsky.social ‘s #EOU2025 Congress.

Only a few Jack Snipe have been tagged so far, but the data emerging on their spring migration is already proving revelatory. Thanks to the #MotusWTS system, we’re beginning to uncover previously unknown aspects of their movement.
Well done to the team @ldvnnr.bsky.social - exciting times!
This story started more than 20 years ago when Cuban ornithologist Freddy Santana joined us at Long Point Bird Observatory! Fast forward, we’re slowly rolling out #MotusWTS infrastructure and projects to learn more about the importance of Cuba to migratory birds! @birdscanada.bsky.social
Very excited to finally say it's online!! New paper in @society4conbio.bsky.social Conservation Biology on how we can use #MotusWTS automated VHF across Europe to understand more about flyways and our declining migratory species.
We hope this will push more collaboration across the continent!
Demonstrating the versatility of the #MotusWTS system using nano tags to track birds, bats, and other animals. Collaborative research and partnership—the way forward!
