A rocky creek flows gently through a forested section of the Alum Cave Trail in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Fallen leaves scatter across the stones and shallow water, while slender trees with early autumn foliage lean inward, forming a canopy of gold and green. Dense rhododendron shrubs frame the path, hinting at the trail’s ascent toward Mount LeConte and Myrtle Point. The scene feels peaceful, wild, and quietly majestic.

Golden leaves underfoot. A cold stream winds through the forest. Mist rises where the sun touches the trees.

Fall in the Smokies is something special to behold.
