L’exposition « Ports en vue » présente plusieurs paysages d’un lieu qui raconte la vie industrielle et évoque le voyage. Les artistes contemporains s’y sont aussi confrontés. C’est à voir jusqu’au 5 avril au #MuMa - musée d’art moderne André-Malraux au Havre.

De 1971 à 1974 pendant mes études aux Beaux-arts j’ai réalisé de nombreux croquis et aquarelles dans le port du Havre. Une partie est exposée au MuMa du Havre dans le cadre de l’exposition « Ports en Vues » jusqu’au 5 avril 2026

Of all the Impressionists, French painter Auguste Renoir was the only one who never ceased to paint human figures, and more particularly women. Although The Excursionist from the Marande collection has not been dated, it was likely painted around 1888, when Renoir sought to produce works depicting elegant young women in the costume of the day. The chosen models are shown playing the piano, gossiping, strolling in the countryside, and their company is reminiscent of the peaceful, happy atmosphere of garden parties in 18th-century France. In this wonderful painting, a young woman with long flowing red hair and very fair complexion is seated facing forward, looking at us ... although she is avoiding our gaze. The thin wooden walking stick in her hand provides the only explanation for the title of the painting (The Excursionist). She wears a vibrant reddish-orange jacket with black trim over a black shirt. On her head is a black and orange headpiece pulling her hair up on her forehead and back behind her ears. The elements forming the background landscape are very vague and appear more as colored notes used to support the more pronounced color of the figure. Despite giving the impression of being painted outdoors, it was presumably composed in the studio. A transitional piece, The Excursionist was painted in thin layers that allow for the subtle passage from one color to the next. The Impressionist brushstrokes are practically gone, giving way to a smooth and fluid painting style. Typical of Renoir's portrayals of young women in the first decade of the 20th century, this peaceful and luminous painting appears to be the picture of happiness, as handed down to us by the Impressionist masters.

🎨Le tableau "La Plaine, Cassis-sur-Mer" d'Henri Manguin, peint en 1913, a été restitué à la France et est désormais exposé au MuMa au Havre.
