Year 4 had a wonderful time at the Great Orchestra Experiment - one of our favourite local annual events! The children played their trumpets and trombones alongside a live orchestra and with lots of other schools too! It was a fantastic experience! #MusicatWelbeck

Year 3 have been learning how to play the glockenspiel. After appraising a range of music featuring glockenspiel, we practised playing a variety of scales and exercises before beginning to learn a whole song. 🎶

Good morning! We’ve slept well (at least 6 hours!), eaten a lovely continental breakfast, and now warming up for our first trumpet session of the day. #MusicatWelbeck
Evening trumpet session followed by some call and response playing under the arches this evening. We took a night walk through the woods and the village, heard the phantom trumpet player and sang about smelly sheep poo! Arrived back just in time for a hot chocolate before bed. #MusicatWelbeck
Music games in the dell. We had to place notes on the stave to match the tune played on the trumpet. We used some rhymes to help us remember where the notes were placed. Our camp leaders were impressed with our knowledge and speed! #MusicatWelbeck

Year 4 travelled through time at Nottingham Music Hub's Great Orchestra Experiment. We played Soul Bossa Nova on our trumpets and were the chorus in Aida with two talented opera singers. What a fantastic day.
