I'm still hoping to do #MutantAlienDay on April 26th as usual (because y'know. The xenomorphs are from Planet LV-426). However we've made it to Prometheus at this point which has me wondering what the best format would be for this: 🧵
I know there are several different versions of this movie floating around, directors cuts and such.
On Hulu, it is the **two hour, 17 minute version.** It’s also on Disney+.

The colonel is a tie to Predator 2. Originally, the directors wanted Adam Baldwin to reprise his role as one of Agent Keyes men but he was unable to do so. The screens mention Project O.W.L.F (Outher Worldly Life Form), which is from that movie.

I’m watching the original cut of alien and I can’t recall the director cut cause I haven’t watched it in a while but this movie is just so good atmospheric full attention. It’s a very clear why it’s such a beloved film. #MutantAlienDay
Since AvP 2 is infamous for its poor lighting (a combination of a smaller budget, inexperienced directors, and the directors not wanting the creatures too visible) here's the one good look at the Xenomorph/Predator hybrid.

Not to mention a host of TV regulars like Gina Holden and Ty Olsson. Many shows film in Canada for the tax breaks so there's a number of Canadian actors who have made a name for themselves by working the circuit up there.

There are a few familiar faces in AvP 2. Tim is Sam Trammell of True Blood fame, Dale is David Paetkau of Final Destination 2 fame, Morales is John Ortiz, from Fast 5, & "Wear the Hat" boss is David Hornsby from Its Always Sunny.

Ricky was played by Johnny Lewis (who, like Tommy Flanagan in AvP was on Sons of Anarchy). Sadly Johnny was in a motorcycle accident in 2011 which caused him to develop some severe mental health issues. He passed away in 2012 after a tragic altercation.

A Xenomorph skull
I always imagined that they see kind of like a barreleye fish, their eyes are not well developed but can sense changes between light and dark. They do have orbital fossa, but it's behind the dome to protect them outside of an atmosphere. #MutantAlienDay
