I love reading the #MyFirstScience stories! Seeing how tiny moments can change the course of a life.
Mine: my dad was a sailor in the era before GPS. He would take me out and show me the stars, and talk about how to navigate by them. I still have the star chart we used.
#MyFirstScience I was around 4. My mother was showing me how to use a toy microscope, & we were chasing the light with a little mirror.
My mom's 80th birthday is today. Say Happy Birthday Mom!
Stumbled upon some more #MyFirstScience memories:
Grandpa 1 was a hunter, grandpa 2 had a little farm. So hare and rabbit naturally made the menu from time to time - and little Jens was happy being allowed to keep the skulls for anatomic studies.
Still have them today. π
Thinking about it, #MyFirstScience probably were the long beach-walks with my father when I was 4, looking for whatβs called '#Donnerkeil' (thunderbolt) in German: the bullet-shaped rostrum of fossil #belemnoids.
Still got many of them in the desk. π
