At #AMCEN20 I conferred with H.E. Roger Baro, Minister of Environment, Water and Sanitation of Burkina Faso. We discussed opportunities to accelerate the implementation of the country’s revised National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan #NBSAP and preparations for COP 17 of the CBD.

At #UNOC3 I was honoured to meet with H.E. Ana Paula Chantre Luna de Carvalho, Minister of Environment of Angola.

We support the country's efforts to implement the 🌍 Biodiversity Framework #KMGBF and applaud the ongoing alignment of its National Biodiversity Strategy & Action Plan #NBSAP.

Does the UK risk undermining its own pledge for fungal conservation?

Yes, because it does not have the concrete measures for fungus conservation in its #NBSAP that it is asking other countries to include.

UK must now plan, commit and fund fungal conservation to make good of the pledge.🍄

How about those 'concrete measures' for fungal conservation?

None. 😔

But then the #NBSAP is so broad, that it doesn't have many 'concrete measures' for anything else either. Maybe we shouldn't feel too bad?

Instead it defers implementation to the country biodiversity strategies.
