NDF conference closing slide
Our conference convenor extraordinaire Naiomi Murgatroyd gives the closing remarks on day 2 of #NDF25
Adrian: Museum. Collections joined up. New research haven't been able to be done before, because we can make the connections. Think about the Internet, it all comes down to people. How we can all come together and make it better.
#NDF25
Q: If everything goes well, where would AI take us?
Ravi: Machines, AI, do all the work. We will relax. It's good and bad. We will see both side of it.
Lucie: AI could assist big thing that we're tackling - equality, inclusivity, diversity. Maybe AI can help us better understand society.
#NDF25
Do we have to use the existing big tech tools? Can we build an ethical AI for the GLAM sector? Big questions being asked in the AI fireside chat at #NDF25
Q: Why do we need to use Big Tech AI? Can we have GLAM AI?
Adrian: Not a bad question. We need to look at grassroots up. We have the skills, we hope we do.
#NDF25
Q: Can we ignore AI?
Ravi: Moving so fast. As big as the Internet. There will be a lot of change.
Lucie: Flex some muscle, set us up for future, for next wave of emerging tech.
Adrian: Role of Te Papa - inform future of AI. If we don't do it, big corporation will do it.
#NDF25
Lucie: collaborate with SLQ. Used ACMI tool. Generated React frontend - impactful for staff.
#NDF25
Adrian: Fantastic Futures 2024 #FF2024. Collegial. Information sharing. Each one has its strength in different areas. No one was particularly leading overall. Data Sovereignty only mentioned by NZ/AUs presentations.
