Visited Odiham Castle ruins today where the chalk stream River Whitewater runs underneath the Basingstoke Canal. Reminded once again how important it is to preserve beautiful and unique chalk streams #NEHampshire

Lousewort & orchid rosettes

For #wildflowerHour on the heath lousewort Pedicularis sylvatica - a hemi-parasitic plant in the broomrape family, which grows on the roots of grass. Nice to see the rosettes of heath orchids, 💕 they’ll be flowering next month #neHampshire

A loddon Lily - Leucojum aestivum, there is some debate whether native to the uk or not, possibly location based, so these in an SSSI (ancient woodland) not too far from the River Loddon possibly are! #neHampshire #wildFlowerHour
